The storyteller presents the story of King Kpassè

During four weeks, primary school students in Ouidah were part of a program promoting the discovery of the arts world.  They chose between three tracts: performing arts (theater, dance, and music), visual arts (ceramics, decoration, and painting), and media arts (photography, graphic design, video montage).  The program finished with a small variety show presented to the children’s parents.  The music room served as the venue for the event. Among the spectators, it should be noted that the Director of the American Cultural Center in Cotonou as well as the President of the Parents’ Association were present for the event.  Certificates were given to every student. A small exhibition of the art students’ work was also on display in the art room.  Stay tuned for more videos and images of the event!

The dance of the farmers. 

Durant quatre semaines les enfants des écoles primaires de Ouidah, ont été au cœur d’une formation initiative et de découverte du monde des arts. Il s’agit des pistes d’art vivant (théâtre, danse, musique)  d’art plastique (modelage, décoration, peinture, bande dessinée) et d’art multi média (photographie, vidéo montage, graphisme). A la fin de cette formation, les enfants ont présentés leurs travaux aux parents venus nombreux les encourager. C’est la salle de musique du centre qui a servi de cadre à ce petit spectacle simple mais fort de sens et de symbole. Parmi les spectateurs, on pouvait noter la présence du Directeur du Centre Culturel Américain et aussi du Président de l’Association des parents d’élèves de l’école Ganvè qui abrite le centre CIAMO. Des remises d’attestation de participation sont venues mettre fin au spectacle. Par ailleurs, notons que les enfants du piste d’art plastique ont fait exposer  les objets d’art  réalisés durant la formation.
